Insurance & Appointment Policy

Shanell’s Psychiatry Care, LLC

At Shanell’s Psychiatry Care, LLC, we are committed to providing transparent policies to ensure a smooth and respectful experience for all patients. Please review the information below before scheduling your appointment.


Insurance Accepted

We currently accept:

  • Medicaid through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois

  • Medicare through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois

  • Medicaid or Medicare through United Healthcare

If you have commercial insurance through your employer, your claims and payments will be processed securely through Headway.


Headway Account Requirement

If you are using commercial insurance:

  • Your Headway account must be fully set up at least 1 hour before your appointment.

  • If your account is not completed in time, your appointment will be cancelled.

Please ensure all required information is submitted promptly to avoid disruption of care.


Identification & Insurance Requirements

To protect patient safety and comply with regulations, the following are required at the time of booking:

  • A clear photo of your insurance card (for insured patients)

  • A valid photo ID for all patients

  • If you are seeking controlled medications, photo ID upload is mandatory

Appointments will not be accepted without:

  • A photo ID

  • An insurance card (if using insurance)

Exception: Patients paying privately are not required to upload an insurance card.


Intake Forms

All intake forms must be:

  • Fully completed

  • Submitted before your scheduled appointment

Incomplete paperwork may result in cancellation or rescheduling.

Completing forms ahead of time allows us to focus fully on your care during your visit.


No-Show & False Insurance Policy

A $75 no-show fee will be charged to:

  • Any patient who does not attend their scheduled appointment

  • Any patient who books using false or invalid insurance information

We value your time and ask that you respect ours as well. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us in advance.
